What was recalled: Sportsman’s Pride, Sprout Sporting, Intimidator, and FRM Gold Select dog foods

Sunshine Mills, Inc. is voluntarily recalling dog food products under various brand names due to potential Salmonella contamination. This recall was initiated after a sample of dog food tested positive for Salmonella during routine surveillance.

The affected products are Sportsman’s Pride Professional Formula 30/20 Dog Food (40lb. with Best By date of Oct. 7, 2021), Sprout Sporting Dog Food (5lb. bag and 40lb. bag with Best By date of Oct. 6, 2021), Intimidator Chicken & Rice Formula Dog Food 30/20 (16lb. and 40lb. bag with Best By date of Oct. 6, 2021, and FRM Gold Select High Performance Dog Food (50lb. bag with Best date of Oct. 6, 2021).

No pet illness has been reported to date, but any consumers of this pet food are urged to throw it away. Dogs with Salmonella poisoning may exhibit lethargy, diarrhea, fever, vomiting, decreased appetite, fever, and abdominal pain. If your pet consumed the recalled product, please visit your veterinarian. If you purchased the affected lot, please return it for a full refund.
