What was recalled: Nutri Source Pure Vita Salmon Entrée Dog Food

Tuffy’s Pet Foods is voluntarily recalling around 1600 cases of Pure Vita Salmon Entrée Dog Food due to potentially elevated levels of Vitamin D. These products were distributed to retail stores nationwide.

The affected packages come in a Tetrapak carton with a UPC code of “0 73893 96202 1” on the side. The recalled packages are limited to 12.5 oz. carton with Best By dates of June 29, 2023 and September 1, 2023.

Symptoms of Vitamin D toxicity in dogs include vomiting, loss of appetite, increased thirst, increased urination, excessive drooling, and weight loss. Consuming high levels of Vitamin D for extended periods can lead to much more serious health issues, including renal failure. If your dog consumed the affected product, discontinue use and contact your veterinarian.
