What was recalled: Evolve, Sportsman’s Pride, and Triumph brand dry dog food

Sunshine Mills, Inc. is voluntarily recalling certain dry dog food products due to elevated levels of Vitamin D. The affected products were distributed nationwide via retail stores and also exported to Japan, Canada, South Korea, Puerto Rico, Colombia, and Israel.

The affected products include 28 lb. Evolve® Chicken & Rice Puppy Dry Dog Food, 40lb.Sportsman’s Pride® Large Breed Puppy Dry Dog Food, and Triumph® Chicken & Rice Recipe Dry Dog Food (3.5lb., 16lb., 30lb bags). All recalled products have a Best By date of Nov 1, 2018 through Nov 8, 2019.

Symptoms of Vitamin D toxicity in dogs include vomiting, loss of appetite, increased thirst, increased urination, excessive drooling, and weight loss. If your dog consumed the affected product, discontinue use, and contact your veterinarian.
