Cause: Levels of aflatoxin exceeding acceptable limits

What was recalled: Triumph, Evolve, Nature Farms, and Elm dog food
Sunshine Mills, Inc. is voluntarily recalling some dog food products due to levels of aflatoxin that may be above the acceptable limit. The affected products were distributed nationwide via pet retail stores.
The concerned foods are certain lots of Triumph® Wild Spirit Craft Dog Food Deboned Chicken & Brown Rice Recipe (3.5lb. and 30lb. bags) Evolve® Classic Super Premium Food for Dogs Deboned Chicken & Brown Rice Recipe (15lb. and 30lb. bags), Wild Harvest® Premium Dog Food Chicken & Brown Rice Recipe (14lb. bag), Nurture Farms® Natural Dog Food Deboned Chicken & Brown Rice Recipe (15lb. bag), Heart to Tail Pure Being® Natural Dog Food Deboned Chicken & Brown Rice Recipe (5lb. bag), and Elm Pet Foods Naturals Chicken & Rice Recipe Dog Food (40lb. bag). The recall applies to lots with a Best By date of Feb 11, 2021.
Aflatoxin is a mold by-product that results from the growth of Aspergillus flavus and can be harmful to dogs if consumed in excess. Symptoms of aflatoxin ingestion may include lethargy, reluctance to eat, vomiting, yellowish tint to gums or eyes, and diarrhea.
No illness in connection with these products has been reported, but consumers who have purchased the affected brands should discontinue feeding and return to the place of purchase for a refund.
