Dog Food Recall: Party Animal Recalls Cocolicious Dog Food Due to Potential Contamination with Pentobarbital

Cause: Possible health risk due to pentobarbital

Announcement: FDA recall notice dated Feb. 8, 2018

What was recalled: Cocolicious Beef & Turkey dog food and Cocolicious Chicken & Beef dog food

Party Animal is recalling 13-ounce cans of Cocolicious Beef & Turkey dog food and Chicken & Beef dog food due to reports of discomfort being experienced by a pet who ate food from an affected lot in Texas. Testing revealed that the sample eaten by this pet was positive for pentobarbital, which can cause dizziness, loss of balance, nausea, and more.

The affected lots were manufactured and distributed in 2015 to pet stores nation-wide. The affected Beef & Turkey dog food has a best by date of July 2019. The Chicken & Beef dog food has a best by date of August 19.
