Cause: Potential contamination with Salmonella

What was recalled: Multiple brands of dog and cat food

Midwestern Pet Foods of Indiana is voluntarily recalling certain lots of dog food under multiple brand names manufactured at its Monmouth, Illinois production facility due to potential contamination with Salmonella.

Affected brands include CanineX, Earthborn Holistic, Venture, Unrefined, Sportmix Wholesomes, Pro Pac, Pro Pac Ultimates, Sportstrail, Sportmix, and Meridian. The recalled items were distributed nationwide (including Puerto Rico) and also exported to several countries worldwide.

Dogs with Salmonella poisoning may exhibit lethargy, diarrhea, fever, vomiting, decreased appetite, fever, and abdominal pain. If your pet consumed the recalled product, please visit your veterinarian. If you purchased the affected lot, please return it for a full refund.
