Dog Food Recall: EuroCan Manufacturing Recalls Pig Ear Dog Treats Due to Potential Salmonella Contamination

Cause: Possible Salmonella contamination

Announcement: FDA recall notice dated Feb. 8, 2018

What was recalled: HoundsTooth®, Mac’s Choice®, and Barnsdale Farms® Pig Ears

EuroCan Manufacturing has issued a voluntary recall of Pig Ear dog treats under the brand names of HoundsTooth®, Mac’s Choice®, and Barnsdale Farms® due to possible Salmonella contamination.

The recall applies to Lot 84 of individually shrink-wrapped 6-pack, 12-pack and 25-pack bags sold throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Although no illness has been reported to date, routine testing showed possible contamination in the product, causing the company to suspend distribution. Symptoms of Salmonella infection in dogs include diarrhea, vomiting, fever, and abdominal pain. If your pet consumed any treats from this lot and is showing symptoms, please visit your veterinarian.

If you are affected by this recall, return the product to the place of purchase for a refund.
