Dog Food Recall: Freshpet Recalls Dog Food Due to Potential Contamination With Salmonella

Cause: Possible Salmonella contamination

What was recalled: Freshpet Select Fresh From the Kitchen Home Cooked Chicken Recipe

Freshpet is voluntarily recalling a single lot of its Select Fresh From the Kitchen Home Cooked Chicken recipe due to potential Salmonella contamination. The affected product was sold in a 4.5 lb. bag with a sell by date of 10/29/22.

No reports of illness have been received to date, but if you purchased this food you are advised to stop feeding it to your dog and dispose of it immediately. This lot was distributed through retailers in Alabama, Georgia, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, Vermont, and West Virginia.

Symptoms of Salmonella in dogs include lethargy, diarrhea, fever, vomiting, decreased appetite, fever, and abdominal pain. If your dog has eaten the recalled product and is showing any of these symptoms, please visit your veterinarian.
