Dog Food Recall: Carnivore Meat Company Recalls Limited Batches of “Vital Essentials® Freeze-Dried beef Toppers” and Vital Essentials® Frozen Beef Chub Entrée for Dogs” Pet Food

Cause: Possible Salmonella contamination

What was recalled: Vital Essentials® Freeze-Dried Beef Toppers and Frozen Beef Chub

Carnivore Meat Company is voluntarily recalling a limited number of Vital Essentials Freeze-Dried Beef Toppers and Frozen Beef Chub Entrée for Dogs, 5lb. due to possible Salmonella contamination.

The affected products were distributed nationwide through independent retailers and by online retailers Chewys.com and Amazon.com. The affected Vital Essentials products are Freeze-Dried Beef Toppers, 6oz poly bag (Lot #12815 and Best By dates of 06/01/2019, 06/04/19, or 06/20/19) and Frozen Beef Chub Entrée for Dogs, 5lb. (Lot #13816 with Best By date 12/27/18 and UPC 033211008817).

Dogs with Salmonella may exhibit lethargy, diarrhea, fever, vomiting, decreased appetite, fever, and abdominal pain. If your dog consumed the affected product and is showing any of these symptoms, please see your veterinarian.
