Bravo Balance is a frozen raw dog food that’s considered low risk with a score of 9.3. Three recipes have an average protein content of 46% and negligible carbs which is what’s expected in a raw food. They rank high in safety and quality due to their minimal processing and low carb content.

 

These 3 recipes are only 1 point away from a perfect score in ingredient safety, with a point lost for using a high pesticide/herbicide food like celery in the Beef recipe. The recipes lose quality points for added minerals rather than relying on the ingredients for nutrients. While there are only a few added minerals, when five or more are added it can indicate ingredients are lacking naturally occurring minerals from whole food sources.

 

A quality point was lost as the Beef recipe contains sunflower oil. This is a highly processed oil and can be inflammatory. Seed oils, such as safflower, sunflower or flaxseed oil, are high in omega-6 fatty acids, which can cause systemic and gut inflammation.
